Approximate travel time is nine hours.įrom Kansas City, Travel north on I-29 to Sioux Falls. From there, go north on I-29 to Sioux Falls. Approximate travel time is eight hours.įrom Denver, Travel east on I-76 into Nebraska until the I-80 interchange. This forms a loop around the city.įrom Chicago, Travel west on I-90 to Sioux Falls. Another interstate, I-229, travels from the southwestern part of the city to the northeastern part. Sioux Falls is located at the intersection of two major interstates, I-90 and I-29. Interstate bus service is provided by Jefferson Lines partnered with Greyhound, 4110 West Maple Street Suite 108, serving virtually the entire continental North America. The Sioux Falls Bus Terminal (or Sioux Falls Area Metro - SAM) 120 East 11th Street, covers much of the city with many stations along the routes. Jaycee Lane, is the major airport in the area. Sioux Falls may be traveled by car but does have courier and taxi service and trolley service downtown in the summer. It is widely recognized as the largest urban center between Minneapolis and Denver. Founded in 1883 in what was then known as the Dakota Territory, Sioux Falls has grown from a sleepy Midwestern town into a mecca for shopping and tourism in the northern Great Plains. Sioux Falls is a city of 148,000 located in Southeast South Dakota.
